Our Story
Management Team
In the 1990s, Phil Callen, the Founder and General Manager, observed the environmental and economic impacts of landfill and waste disposal. He found that the power generation industry faced similar challenges with depleting natural resources and contributing to global warming. He established Alternative Use Group (AUG) to research, develop, and design systems that address both efficiency and environmental concerns. Alternative Use Group (AUG) designed systems to provide energy from waste solutions adaptable to various regions and capable of handling waste streams of any combustible composition. These solutions cater to clients ranging from small private entities to local municipalities, national governments, and large multinational corporations.

Phil’s journey began with a simple truth: sustainable change requires economic viability, AUG has transformed waste management from a costly burden into a profitable, eco-conscious solution.
